The vagabond challenge is an annual competition, which will determine which riders will be within the top 10 positions and most of all within the top 3 positions, this is based on having the highest documented mileage.
Only Iron Butt Association/Asphalt Rats Members
The vagabond is a friendly competition, being able to know who will achieve the highest mileage each month, so that at the end of the year it will be possible to establish who was the one who rode his motorcycle with the greatest number of kilometers, the idea is to be able to be within the first 3 places, however, AREM-IBAMX recognizes the first 10 places, of which:
1. The first 3 places will obtain their plaques, medals, patches, decals.
2. The next 7 will get a diploma, patches, stickers and medals.
3. From 11th to the end, you will get a diploma, sticker.
This is our first year in the USA
Please pay close attention to the rules listed below, BECAUSE YOU MUST FOLLOW THEM TO THE LETTER, otherwise you will not be credited with your participation.
1) AREM MEMBERS ONLY from anywhere in the world.
2) You must REGISTER HERE - Sign ups closes on January 31st.
3) Rides can be ON & OFF ROAD.
4) PERSONAL ROADS within the city DO NOT COUNT (e.g. going for pizza, going to see your girlfriend, etc.), only on the road or off road. If you use your motorcycle as a vehicle within your town, those kilometers do not count either. – However, if you travel from one city to another and stay in the city visiting for more than a day and you have to use the motorcycle to go somewhere, those kilometers do count.
5) YOU MUST USE THE REGISTRATION FORM that we provide you here and fill it out month by month.
6) One or more motorcycles can be used.
DOCUMENTING YOUR RIDE:
1. Initial photograph of your odometer with a ticket that contains the date and place where you start.
2. Final photograph with ticket.
3. If your ride lasts several days, attach a photograph of your odometer with a ticket containing the date and place of your ride for each place visited.
If you use the same or different motorcycles, take photos of the odometers and save them with the name of the trip (see example sheet). The photograph must be initial and final on each trip.
WITHIN THE FIRST 5 DAYS OF EACH MONTH you must send your registration sheet with the ride data and photographs documenting each ride to the email Wendy@beyondthegarage.com. REGISTRATIONS FROM PAST MONTHS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. This to make the count easier and to be able to announce the places each month, it will be fun!!! The updated list of positions will be published starting on the 15th of each month.
You should use any tracking system (GPS, Spotwalla, Rever, etc.) – you can use the app called TimeStamp which allows you to take a photo and shows you where you are, time, GPS position, etc.
We invite you to use the Spotwalla tracking system as part of your documentation
The rides that you can include can be rides on a rally, vacation, Nomad Ride Expedition, picnic, expeditions, weekend rides (as long as you leave the city), trips to another country on a motorcycle, etc. But remember: the rides in the city or the kilometers you accumulate by using your motorcycle as a means of transportation in your area do not count.
AREM-IBA staff will also be entering this challenge
HAVE FUN AND SEE YOU ON THE ROAD! AND REMEMBER, RIDE SAFE, AND WEAR ALL SAFETY GEAR!!
